"Deepwater Jetty" captures the essence of a marina viewed from above, or from the perspective of a blueprint mapping the spaces of architecture, bridges, jetties and walkways that delineate the spaces between the built environment and the different depths of water.
The composition is made of abstract shapes, mark making with pencils, fine lines by scraping with the palette knife. While broad brush strokes, and oil sticks create a textural surface, suggesting movement. The mid-blue, indigo, and teal tones dominate the composition, contrasted with orange and white.
